Two promotions and two new appointments were approved in the electrical engineering faculty.

Effective July 1, 2019, Alejandro Rodriguez and Kaushik Sengupta have each been promoted to associate professor. They joined the Princeton faculty in 2013.

Jason D. Lee and Chi Jin have each been appointed as assistant professor. They both work in the areas of statistics, machine learning and optimization. Lee joins from the University of Southern California. His research focuses with special attention on the foundations of deep learning and non-convex optimization. Jin recently finished his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, and will spend the fall working on a special program in machine learning at the Institute for Advanced Study.

Lee started on July 1; Chin will start on September 1.
