Laser Device May End Pin Pricks and Improve Quality of Life for Diabetes Patients

Professor Claire Gmachl and her lab have developed a way to use a laser to measure blood sugar.  This new technique could allow diabetic patients the ability to check their levels without having to draw blood.  The research has led to a published article in the June 23rd issue of Biomedical Optics Express.  The article explains how the team measured blood sugar by directing their specialized laser at a person's palm.  To read the full story, please click here.
