Aug. 29, 2022

Sanjeev Kulkarni, the William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been honored in recognition of his tenure as the Dean of the Graduate School, which ran from 2014 to 2017. His portrait was unveiled at Procter Hall over the summer.

During his term at the Graduate School, Kulkarni instituted many new programs and increased the diversity of entering graduate student cohorts.

Kulkarni’s impact on the University continued with his transition to Dean of the Faculty in 2017. He held that position until 2021, when he stepped down to focus on teaching and research. Kulkarni became jointly appointed with ECE and the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering last year.
